Cyber Forensic Training Centre

A Cyber Forensic Training Centre has been conceptualized and the initial groundwork to establish it at Bihar Police Academy has been done.

The Information Technology revolution has changed the way the world lives. Almost all business and personal transactions are being conducted electronically. With the Digital India initiative attaining broader dimensions, cyber security and forensics professionals will become essential in the near future. Every crime potentially will have an electronic component associated with it.

The investigation and analysis of these components will be pivotal in modern criminal investigations. The requirement for cyber forensic services is growing as a result of the ever increasing use of computer in all aspects of life. Digital forensics is the practical collecting, analysing and reporting on digital data in a way that is legally admissible.

Traditional crime investigation methods are not suitable for cybercrime investigations. A new set of methods and procedures have been devised to this effect. The existing investigating agencies need to be well versed in the different aspects of the changing technology and methodology.

A Cyber Forensic Lab will impart regular training for providing in depth knowledge of the techniques and methods involved in this new field. It will help to deliver cyber forensic solutions for investigating officers which will help them to scientifically analyse and investigate cyber – crimes. It will help them to use different kinds of tools for analysis various types of cyber – crime related evidence.
